[The winds comment gets ignored. He hadn't even been key there. That was Fiona.]
I don't expect someone to apologize for finding a means of survival in there. What I expect is for mages to get their heads straight and not drag everyone around them back into cages. If you're afraid of what you are and what you can do, [then it breaks his heart,] then seeking control for yourself is entirely different from seeking it for everyone.
If training would help you, though, I can make time for that. I'd find it a very worthwhile goal to help with.
[He looks down for a moment before shaking his head.]
It was far from the same for everyone. So many suffered, while some felt safe. So many vanished because the Templars got carried away having 'fun' or giving in to anger or just didn't like someone. You lost your home, but keeping that home would have meant more lost their lives.
[Anders exhales.]
I'm sorry that you were torn from somewhere you felt safe. But I can't be sorry about the rest. The comfort of some did not justify the cruelty and abuses heaped on others.

I fought against Templars in the Hinterlands. I feared their blades and their power to dispel magic, not my fire.

Date: 2016-07-20 01:15 am (UTC)Because it was my home. I was raised there, I was taught by mages I trusted. I felt safe.
I -- maybe it wasn't the same for everyone. But I know what I lost.
...I lost this notif somehow, I'm sorry.
